E8 Spotlight: Hannah Silvestri
The Empire 8 Conference is full of talented student-athletes and the E8 Spotlight is one way for fans to get to know them.
Hannah Silvestri (Beverly, MA/Beverly) is a junior forward on the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team.
Why did you choose to attend Stevens? A lot of my family attended Stevens, so I started to look at Stevens because of the family connection. It is a beautiful school and Hoboken is great so it really drew me in.
What has been the greatest part of your experience as a college athlete? Winning the Empire 8 Championship as a freshman.
Who has been the most influential person during your athletic career? Why? My mom. She grew up playing a lot of sports and she played field hockey at BC and is in the Hall of Fame there.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Not sure at this time I just really hope I enjoy whatever I am doing.
What do you like most about competing in the E8? It is great that we can travel to upstate NY.
What do you do in your spare time? Hang out with the field hockey team.
Top 3 things on your bucket list? Study abroad. Win an NCAA Championship. See the musical Hamilton.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I’m really good at baking bread.
