Get to Know: Kevin Brenner

Kevin Brenner was recently hired as the head men’s soccer coach at Elmira College.
Where did you attend college? I attended SUNY Cortland and then transferred to University at Buffalo. I played men’s soccer and majored in Business Administration and minored in Economics.
What made you chose to attend institutions? I wanted to be a physical education teacher so I attended Cortland. And then I changed to a Business major so I transferred to Buffalo.
How long have you been working at Elmira? I have been working at Elmira for about four weeks.
What brought you to Elmira? Initially it was the history and tradition of the school and the men’s soccer program. I saw it as a sleeping giant in terms of the men’s soccer program and the potential to go pretty far.
What is the best thing about the Elmira Campus? The beauty. The buildings and atmosphere that make it a tight knit community.
What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear ‘Elmira’? Tradition.
Who has been the most influential person during your career? My parents on a personal level and in terms of coaching, Stu Riddle the men’s soccer coach at the University of Buffalo and Dermot McGrane the men’s soccer coach at Canisius College.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to cook, travel and work out.
Top three things on your bucket list?
Attend a World Cup
Travel to more countries and cities.
See the Grand Canyon.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I am ambidextrous and I like to cook.
