Marcia McCord, Ithaca College

McCord broke the school record in the 400-meter dash and qualified for the NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 56.68 seconds at the NYSCTC Championships.  She was also a member of the winning 400-meter relay team that ran a school-record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 48.58 seconds.

Ithaca placed fifth at the NYSCTC Championships over the weekend.  Laura Morehouse, Laura Gallup, and senior captain Leigh Klumpp joined Marcia McCord in setting the school record in the 400-meter relay team.  Morehouse placed third in the 100-meter dash (12.58 seconds) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (26.23 seconds).  Senior Caitlin Catella finished second in the 10,000 meters in 39:17.36… Senior Adrienne Gagnier finished second in the 1,500-meter run, breaking her own RIT record in the event with a time of 4:42.82 at the NYSCTC Championships.  Gagnier, Alexandra Bush, Dana Palmer, and Jouhan Allende placed fourth in the 3,200-meter relay in a school-record time of 9:35.57.  Senior LaKeisha Perez provisionally qualified for the NCAA championship by winning the 100-meter hurdles in 14.92 seconds as she seeks her second consecutive appearance in the national meet.  The 400-meter relay team of Perez, Samantha Mitchell, Allison Dupra, and Abby Arday broke the school record in a time of 49.19 seconds.
