Marcia McCord of Ithaca Earns Two All-America Honors

Sophomore Marcia McCord earned all-America honors in the 200- and 400-meter dashes Saturday at the final day of the NCAA Championships, hosted by Marietta. McCord placed fifth in the 200, running 24.95. She is Ithaca's second all-American in the event, joining Amy Vanaskie, who did so in 1992. In the 400, McCord placed seventh at 56.55. Ithaca Easily Captures 17th Women's Outdoor Track and Field State Title

Titles in nine events led the women's track & field team to first place at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Championships. The Bombers, who have won 17 state championships since 1987, scored 274.50 points -- more than the second-place and third-place teams combined. Ithaca Sweeps Men's and Women's Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Host Ithaca won the men's and women's conference titles at the 2008 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday. The title was the fourth in five years for both programs.
