Welsh made 11 first-half saves and earned the win as Ithaca defeated Elmira 4-1 on Saturday to clinch a playoff spot for the Bombers.

8 Field Hockey team notes...
Hartwick entered the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship as the eighth and last seed in the tournament, but advanced to the title game before falling 3-0 to second seed Montclair State. In the opening round, Jenny Murphy tied the game 1-1 with 1:42 left in regulation and Empire 8 Rookie of the Year Kelsey Kimble tallied at 8:55 of the first overtime as the Hawks stunned top-seeded Wilkes 2-1. Junior Jen Kaye and sophomore Brittany Baughman each scored twice and registered an assist in the Hawks’ 4-0 victory over Alvernia in the semifinals.
