Elmira College Volleyball Raises $1,700 for Breast Cancer Research

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Women’s Volleyball team joined the 2009 National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally by hosting the second annual Elmira College ‘Dig Pink’ event during the Elmira College Women’s Volleyball Invitational (Elmira College, Alfred University, Hartwick College, and the University of Pitt.-Bradford) this season.
The color pink filled Speidel Gymnasium during Saturday’s portion of the Invitational as spectators, athletes, and coaches donned pink apparel and pink ribbons to show their support.
The event was a great success as $1,700 was raised and donated to The Side-Out Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting breast cancer awareness.
