Four Men's and Women's Empire 8 Cross Country Teams Earn All-Academic Honors

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2007 Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team and four Empire 8 institutions earned the honor in men's and women's cross country.

Of the 379 schools that sponsor Division III men's cross country, 98 programs received the All-Academic Team honor this year. Stevens Institute of Technology recorded the fifth-highest grade point average in the nation on the men's side. Rochester Institute of Technology, Nazareth College, and Ithaca College also surpassed the 3.10 team GPA requirement to receive the team academic honor.

Of the 390 schools that sponsor Division III women's cross country, 141 programs made the All-Academic Team, an increase of 29 from the previous season. RIT ranked seventh in the nation with its team GPA. Nazareth, Ithaca, and Stevens each recorded a team GPA of 3.41 or higher with the honor going to all programs with a 3.10 GPA or higher.
