Andrew Crawford Appointed Cross Country Coach at Alfred

ALFRED, NY — Andrew Crawford has been appointed head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country teams at Alfred University. Crawford, a former cross country and track standout at AU, replaces former cross country head coach Rob Winkky.
A native of Lexington, KY, and graduate of Canandaigua (NY) Academy, Crawford earned a bachelor’s degree in glass engineering science from AU in 2005 and a master’s degree in materials science engineering, also from Alfred, in 2007. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in glass science from AU.
A team captain on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams at Alfred, Crawford ran on teams that set new school records in the indoor distance medley relay and the 4-by-800 meter outdoor relay.
Crawford was an assistant coach of the men’s and women’s cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams from 2005-07. He will continue to serve as an assistant coach of track and field.
