Ryan Tryt Named CoSIDA All-American; First in RIT Baseball History

ROCHESTER, NY -- Ryan Tryt (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) of the RIT Baseball team was named a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American on Friday. Tryt, a junior catcher, has a 4.0 GPA in marketing at RIT. He is also the first national Academic All-American in the history of the program.

Tryt, who also was an All-Empire 8 first team selection and a second-team ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region, batted .364 with team-leading totals of 19 walks, 10 doubles, two home runs and 27 RBI. He ripped 43 hits, and had a slugging percentage of .517. Tryt was named to the 2007 CO-SIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team.

RIT finished the 2007 season with a 24-12 record. The 24 wins tied the school record for wins in a season.
