Borda was named Most Valuable Player of the Empire 8 Men’s Tennis Championship as Ithaca won the conference title for the fifth time and third time in the past four years. He won all four of his matches at the Bombers defeated Hartwick 8-1 and Stevens 5-3. In Sunday’s championship final, Borda won 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 at first singles to earn the clinching point. He also teamed with Josh Rifkin for an 8-2 victory at first doubles.

8 Men's Tennis team notes...
Ithaca earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship. The Bombers have set a school single-season record with 17 victories, breaking the mark of 15 set in 2002-03. Jimmy Newton and Danny Wolk teamed up for a key doubles win to give the Bombers a 2-1 lead over Stevens in the final. They trailed 8-7 and fought off two match points to win that game and won the tiebreaker 7-2… The third doubles team of Sean Barr and Mike del Rosario earned the point for Hartwick in its semifinal loss to Ithaca.
