Dempsey earned national runner-up honors in the pole vault at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at DePauw. He recorded a leap of 5.02 meters, tying his own school record he set at the ECAC Championships. Dempsey became the school’s 10th indoor All-American and first in the pole vault.

Senior Lee Consolo of Alfred placed third in the 500-meter run (1:07.25) at the ECAC indoor championships… Sophomore Michael Dempsey won the pole vault at the ECAC championships with a RIT school-record height of 5.02 meters.
