Senior utility player Geoff Dornes of Rochester Institute of Technology was selected as Empire 8 Player of the Year for the third time in his career and senior Dan Jurik of conference champion St. John Fisher College was chosen as Empire 8 Pitcher of the Year. St. John Fisher Rallies From 6-0 Deficit to Defeat Farmingdale in NCAA Baseball Action
Second-seeded St. John Fisher College overcame a 6-0 deficit and rallied to score six runs in the final three innings to beat No. 6 SUNY Farmingdale 8-7 in the early hours of Friday in NCAA Division III Regional action in Auburn. Idle St. John Fisher Wins First Empire 8 Baseball Title
St. John Fisher College clinched its first Empire 8 Baseball title after posting a 12-4 record in league play. The Cardinals earned at least a share of its first conference title when it split with eight-time defending champion Ithaca College on Wednesday. The Cardinals became solo champions on Sunday when Rochester Institute of Technology defeated the Bombers 8-2 in the first game of a doubleheader.
