Jim Moretti, the Athletic Director at Alfred University or the past nine years, serves as the Empire 8 First Vice President.

Prior to taking on his duties as athletic director, Moretti enjoyed a successful 13-year career as head coach of the Saxons football team, posting a 70-57-3 record and placing him second all-time at the school in coaching wins.

The quarterback for the Saxons from 1969-71, Moretti paced Alfred to a 20-4-0 record during that span, including a perfect 8-0 mark his senior year, the season the Saxons won the Lambert Bowl. Moretti was named AP honorable mention Little All-America twice (1969 and 1971).

Moretti earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Alfred in 1972 and a master's degree in physical education from Cortland State in 1975.
